Description The project was based on my interest with shadows reflected through natural light objects that occur throughout the day. During my research, I visited the Chicago Expo exhibition and understood components of modern paintings, various types of white on white artists for example. I continued to research shadows on everyday objects and sketched variations of these shadows and in combination with color theory, texture studies, and multi-painting courses, I was able to express various techniques and the color theory behind color reflections through white oil paint mediums.
COLLAGING THROUGH CHICAGO
I’ve photographed various objects from exploring Chicago sites, ultimately creating a collage with the use of hand-dyed paper, water color mixtures, fabric dye and acrylics and ultimately expressing gestures and the appreciation of Chicago in general.
